Accessibility
We want every parent and carer to be able to use this site, whatever device or setting they use. This statement covers the concept site only.
What we have done
- Everything works with a keyboard. Every playful control has a real control behind it: drawer buttons, a list of learning areas and a room choice in the form.
- A Pause motion button in the navigation stops video, physics and moving parts, and it is remembered for your next visit.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, every section shows a complete, still version instead.
- Text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, made by the Braille Institute for easy reading, with colours chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast in light and dark modes.
- With high contrast turned on, background textures, tints and light effects are removed behind text.
- At 200% zoom the page switches to its single column layout, with no loss of content.
- There is no sound anywhere on the site.
Known gaps
This is a concept still being built, so some sections are not finished. A real setting would test the site with assistive technology users and publish the results here, with a contact for reporting problems.
